John Gill has an advancement ceremony for all of the 2nd graders because they are all in the same class from K-2 and usually with the same teacher (don't get me started!). It is sweet and simple.
| Elijah waiting his turn to go get his certificate |
| Why is that whenever I try and get a picture it's the background that's clear and the people aren't! I hate that! |
His teacher (this year) is the one second from the right. Mr. Floyd (far right) was his reading teacher. Ms Bradley isn't in this picture, but she taught TIG (a special part of the day where they do more challenging things like learn Newton's Laws and Spanish and such). We have had the best time at John Gill. The community of teachers, parents and students has been great and I am sad to see Elijah leave here to head to Northstar, but we think it is the right place for him so on to new adventures!
A mom (better prepared than I) brought donuts for the class!
Emi wanted to get in the picture with Elijah. :) She'll be at John Gill next year!
Isn't he the cutest kid?!
Then they had snow cones at recess! What a day! Emi was soooo sad she didn't get to have one. Notice all the boys gathered around Elijah (their hero).
Here's the van decked out for the last day. I write on all the back windows and then I curse myself for doing it because it's so hard to get off! HAHAHA
Then we headed to the park with a bunch moms from church. Isaiah like a popsicle for the first time. Usually they're too cold, but I guess the sweetness factor won out this time.
Noah LOVED them of course and Emi and Elijah aren't in any pictures because they were constantly running from place to place and eating about 5 popsicles each!
Isaiah has NO fear and would climb the stairs, cross the bridge, jump on the slide and off again he would go!
Summer is in full SWING and we're soaking up all the laziness and happiness we can. I love summer. I feel so much less like an ogre who is yelling all the time. I sit a lot more and just play with the kids. More on that soon! Happy summer!
