Phil's bday is always just such a a busy time we never do anything. Well, I was determined to change that. We decided to get out of town with it being stake conference weekend and a little easier for Phil to miss church, so off we went to the Worldmark in Clearlake.
We thought we'd rent a boat. Closed.
We thought we'd ride bikes, go to parks. It rained.
But let me tell you. This place was GORGEOUS!
And we had it to ourselves. The hot tub was empty until our last night. We played at the arcade on site.
Breathtaking. Even though I got Photoshop (thanks, Phil) I still don't doctor photos because I don't know how and don't want to take the time, I guess.
Birthday dinner at a sort of yucky italian place. The bread was good. The kids were EXHAUSTED. Elijah was barely able to keep it together. :)
We went to a cool museum where Elijah got to see real indian artifacts (he just finished his studies about the Ohlone Indians).
When the weather was nice we Geocached. Sooo fun! Everyone LOVED it!
Noah found wood that he had to have to build his ladders and houses back home everywhere we went. :)

There were ducks and coots everywhere. Isaiah was loving chasing them.

He was just having fun running around.
Then he went and got a jacket and a bike, of course.
When we headed back he didn't follow us up the stairs. He kept running away.
Noah LOVED the hot tub and so did Mr. I HATE water, Isaiah. This was the first time we've been able to ALL go in.
It was such a laid back, relaxing trip. I was so worried it would be considered boring, but I actually wish we could go back. There was no schedule and nothing to do but swim, star gaze and enjoy being together.
Yes, we think that is a mountain lion track. I have a serious problem with those animals. Phil says it's an irrational fear, whatever, just kill them all if you must to keep us from getting eaten. haha
Skipping rocks.
Noah has a slight obsession with rocks. He would have taken about 100 with us, but Phil made everyone vote so we ended up with just a handful of cool rocks. Yes, they are still in the trunk.
This is when Photoshop will come in handy!

So there they went.
Isaiah doesn't like the sun. In fact, he yells eyes whenever it's bright. He has super sensitive everything. Skin. Eyes. Etc. So this is what he finally did to get a nap in.
I just loved the sky and the trees and the contrast and the fun of changing the setting on the camera and seeing what it did with the light.
So thankful we were able to take this family trip. So what if everyone else was in Hawaii, right?!
